Well well well...
I know what you think : what on earth were you doing !?
I was trying to find a place to upload photos and write my articles. Almost 1 week without any news, phew !
Yeah, sorry, the Hostels I stayed in didn't have any decent internet, and then I could not communicate much. A few FB news, a few mails, and a lot of time required for all this... But now, here I am ! In a service station, waiting for my bus. *groan groan*
But I'm not here to complain, am I ? So off we go, let's talk about El Chaltén !
El Chaltén is a small town near the famous Fitz Roy (which means maybe the "natural" son of the King... or not), a huge mountain beaten by a french dude in 1950s. You don't give a sheet neither ? Right.
Well I stayed in this place, paying 50 pesos for a crappy room. Fother mucking inflated prices of my ass... Damn, tourism increases buying power, then prices raise, but for buck's sake, raise quality as well, you thieves !! Prices are Europe adapted, and quality is not ! So hypocritical... Anyway. I said I wasn't here to complain, so.
Here are the pictures :
1st day, 1st trekking, 750m of denivelation, 12km of walk. I think we can round up at 800m / 13km, if we take into account the number of small places I visited with my french friend met in Ushuaia all along the road.
Here are the pictures ! Enjoy !
Yeah, a few ones from the road... :)
Water, water, water...
A boiling water pot, macro, sun, and rainbow. Funny.
Sooo ol' fahioned, isn't it ?
And make those eyes shine, pretty fly !
El Chaltén, between wasteland and nature.
I think I'm gonna miss the skies here...
An upper view from the town.
So many dead trees in Patagonia ! And sometimes they seem to have struggled against death before expiring their last breath. Well... "breath".
It's meeee !! Yeah, normally I don't appear on my pictures, but Cecile-friend told me that if people want to see only landscapes, they just have to buy postcards. Makes sense.
Bow before da Fitz Roy.
Don't cry for me...
Gotcha, condor !
Macroooos ! ♥
Strange white dead trees all along the way, giving a strange silver and green colors. ... Slytherin ?
Gosh, I love these landscapes, mix between forest and moutain..
I love my soviet-like look : cap + chapka + glasses + kefieh + leather jacket + beard.
... Well, that's not that Soviet, but...
'was there.
"Poaaah", Gnafr' ? ;-)
Kiss the frog or lick the toad ?
Yeah, I walked on water. Just for fun.
Rust-red river. Why not ?
Rebel some days, rebel always.
Follow the airport track.
Well... At last I arrived at this lake !! The ascension almost killed me. My heart went up to 176bpm, which is a performance. I was expecting something like 200 but... Anyways, good news, moreover if you take into account we were ate something like 2100m high ! Enjoy colors :
Tired, huh ?
Fakely chilled-out ;-)
Natural water.
A bit of wind, and the oil-like water turns into agitated sea. Impressive. And cooooold !
Did I tell you anything about my rebel state of mind ?
Here was written : "It's forbidden to go beyond this point if you don't have an Argentinan Parque Nacional authorization".
Bwahahahaha.
Second lake, called "Laguna Sucia", which means "dirty lake". Why not.
Windy windyyyy !!
One more, "pour la route".
The way down was... tiring, oh my God.
Though, I noticed it was less tiring to... run. Indeed, you don't have to brake at each step down. You just have to moderate the acceleration, and then, it's alright. It's even funnier when you meet 3 Canadians guy litterally running down, jumping from rock to rock like mountain-goats. I did the same and enjoyed soooo much. You feel like a ninja. Crazy ninja, but ninja anyway !At last, El Chaltén. Whew, 9hrs trekking !!
Tomorrow, chill out, mate !
For your pleasure, a few panoramic ones (a huuuuge "thank you" to Cecile who took these amazing pictures) :
Waouuuuuch ! comment ça va me faire chialer tellement c'est beau !!
